Hi All,
Here’s a reminder that the Helder Guimaraes lecture is tomorrow
evening, April 8th. Doors open at 7:00 and the lecture starts around 7:30. There are still
two seats available, so if you have not registered and still wish to attend,
please reply to this e-mail now.
Here’s is some information about some upcoming magic events not at our
house. David Roth will be lecturing for SAM
Assembly 4 at their regular meeting on April 17th. It is free to
members and $20.00 for non-members. Check out their website for more
details.
On Friday, May 2nd, SAM
Assembly 4 is doing a public fundraising show at
Kennedy-Kendrick High
School, 250 E. Johnson
Hwy, Norristown,
PA. This is a benefit for St. Titus Parish.
The show is at 7:30pm. Call
610-279-4990 for tickets and more information.
Our buddy Fred Siegel is appearing in a
musical titled Suburban Love Songs. Although there is no magic in it, you’ll
get to see Fred sing and dance. Actually, this show was a big hit at the 2006
Live Arts Festival. It is playing through April 27th at the Plays and
Players Theatre, 17th and Delancey Sts. In Philly. Go and be exposed
to an alternative artform!
There is a new magic shop in Philly (and for that matter, now the only
magic shop in Philly). It is open weekends only at the Quaker City Flea Market
at Tacony and Comly Sts. It is called the Lost World Magic and Fun Shop and is
owned and operated by Steve Cambian. They are open for 8:00 to 4:00 Saturdays and Sundays.
Finally, Bob White sent me his new DVD
on The Malini Egg Bag. I just want to let you all know that this is the “real
deal”. It is his full routine in great detail and he has held nothing back. A
couple of years ago, Bob told me this is a
DVD he would never make. I don’t know what
changed his mind, but the world of magic is the beneficiary. I highly recommend
that you purchase it and put the information to good use.
